Municipal election results in the Ottawa Valley

There is a new mayor in Smiths Falls.
Shawn James Pankow has been elected with a significant margin over Ken Graham. Long-time mayor Denis Staples retired this year after 29 years on council —- three terms as councillor and six as mayor.
There were a number of other changes in the Ottawa Valley:
Two-term mayor Ed Jacyno has been ousted by Mike Lemay in Pembroke
Leslie O’Shaughnessy is the new mayor in Cornwall, with a big win over incumbent Bob Kilge
In Carleton Place, newcomer Louis Antonakos knocked off incumbent Wendy Leblanc.
In Lanark Highlands, Brian Stewart has been elected.
Meantime: David Reid continues as mayor in Arnprior, John Fenik was acclaimed in Perth, Robert Sweet was re-elected in Petawawa, David Gordon was re-elected in North Grenville, Eric Duncan was acclaimed as mayor of North Dundas, Ron Holman returns in Rideau Lakes Township. and in Brockville, David Henderson was re-elected.
