Ottawa man charged with sexual assault

OTTAWA – An Ottawa man has been arrested and charged in an October sexual assault.

Derek Boudreau, 37, was arrested Wednesday after police were advised of his whereabouts by a concerned citizen.

In the evening hours of October 8, 2014, a sex trade worker was found seriously injured in an area bounded by Montreal Road, Lafontaine Street, Mono Avenue and McArthur Avenue.

She had been dumped there following an assault, and police had been looking for a ‘person of interest,’ the person who transported her to that location.

Boudreau faces charges of sexual assault and assault causing bodily harm. He appeared at the Elgin Street courthouse Wednesday, and is due back April 29, 2015.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault/Child Abuse Section at 613-236-1222 ext. 5944.
