OTTAWA – The library board is meeting to discuss whether a new main branch library should be built, or the current building renovated.
The union which looks after library workers held a public forum Monday night, and the board is set to meet Tuesday night.
CUPE feels the city is concentrating too much on building a new library using a public-private partnership, when it should be focused on a proper location.
The union feels a consultant report that suggested a new library should be at a site in Wellington West is flawed because it’s not in the downtown core.
