One of three charged in Vanier murder had connection to murdered sex worker

OTTAWA – Three people are now facing charges in connection to the seventh murder of the year in Ottawa.

Dady Jean, 41, was shot to death with a rifle on November 14 on Lacasse Avenue in Vanier.

Dominique Chretien, 20, has been charged with first-degree murder, as well as Johnnie-Dean Locey-Derochie, 23, and his mother Candy Locey.

All three have been in trouble with the law before. Candy Locey has been fined for dangerous driving in the past, as well as breaching probation.

Johnnie-Dean Locey-Derochie pleaded guilty to robbery in 2012, serving 18 months in jail with a lifetime weapons prohibition.

Dominique Chrétien was convicted of robbery in 2014 and served 90 days in jail.

Postmedia has also learned, Johnnie-Dean had a relationship with a woman found shot to death in a Gatineau hotel room.

It’s alleged by people who knew him, that Johnnie-Dean was involved with Christine McNeil, 25, for several years.

She was found with a gunshot wound at the Four Points Sheraton on rue Laurier back on October 19, and later died.

That death is still under investigation.
