Police pull bones from downtown construction site

OTTAWA — Construction was halted after bones were found at a construction site near Sparks Street and Elgin St.

Workers found the bones at around 11:50 a.m., Thursday.

Constable Chuck Benoit tells 1310News it’s not clear if the bones are human or animal.

“Construction workers have stopped work until the bones are analyzed…. There’s no mention on quantity or size, just that there were bones that were found.”

Benoit says that if the bones are human, the next step will be to find out if they are from a recent crime or historic graveyard.
