One dead, one in custody after hit and run in Aylmer

AYLMER — One person is dead following a hit and run between a car and a pedestrian in Aylmer Sunday morning.
Gatineau police say the collision happened at 9:10 a.m. on Boulevard Lucerne. A man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A 29-year-old Cantley man was arrested soon afterwards and was questioned by police.
Police don’t believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, and have not released either the victim or accused’s names.
Lucerne Boulevard was closed between Frank-Robinson Ave. and Rue des Grands-Châteaux, but has since reopened.
