Smash-and-grab suspects facing 42 charges

OTTAWA — Two men are facing charges after a series of smash-and-grab robberies in Ottawa.

The robberies started in early December, and involved two people smashing through glass doors and stealing cash from businesses.

Police were responding to reports of robberies on January 8th when they stopped two men on Canotek Road.

Evidence from break-ins was found, two men were arrested, and 42 charges have now been laid.

Joseph McIntyre, 72, and Alexander Turnbull, 51, both from Ottawa, are facing charges that include break and enter, possession of stolen property, and mischief.

Turnbull is being held in custody, while McIntyre has been released on bail.
