Extreme winter sport ‘Crashed Ice’ announced for Ottawa 2017

OTTAWA – The winter extreme sporting event’ Red Bull Crashed Ice’ will make its debut in the nation’s capital next year, as part of the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship. The sport is a blend of power skating, ski cross and boarder cross.
Ottawa 2017, along with Mayor Jim Watson, city councillors and dignitaries made the ‘blockbuster announcement’ Thursday morning at the Chateau Laurier.
The Crashed Ice final showdown event will take place in March of 2017 next to the Château Laurier and Major’s Hill Park.
The dates will be announced later this fall.
Canada celebrates its 150th birthday in 2017 and Canadians are invited to gather in the capital to join in a year of celebrations.
