OTTAWA — The city says the federal government letting its workers go home early, but not giving OC Transpo a heads-up, helped make the commute home during this week’s snowstorm even more of a nightmare.
Thousands of government workers descended on Transitway stations, Tuesday afternoon, expecting express buses that weren’t yet running.
The head of OC Transpo, John Manconi, says had the federal government given transit officials some warning, they could have had more buses at the ready.
Federal officials say they’ve never warned the city in the past about releasing workers early because of weather.
