About Jason

Jason is an award-winning reporter on 1310 NEWS, covering the latest news from Ottawa and around the world. The first sign Jason was destined for a career in broadcasting came when he was three, and would pretend to be a weatherman in front of a wall in his family's dining room. Today, Jason has worked in news for more than a decade in a career that has taken him from a small community TV station to radio in the nation's capital, with several stops in between. After graduating from the Seneca College Broadcast Journalism program, Jason's career took him to Rogers all-news and news-talk stations in Toronto, Halifax and now Ottawa. He's anchored overnight news, has been a traffic reporter, reported live from the middle of a hurricane, and covered election campaigns and a provincial legislature. When he's not chasing a story, Jason can usually be found in a museum, out in search of one of the capital's hidden gems, or trapped on the couch underneath his two cats.
