Statement from councillor Tim Tierney:
Tomorrow, Chief Bordeleau, Councillor El-Chantiry and I will be meeting at Ottawa City Hall at 2 p.m.
This meeting must have tangibles and an outcome that will be visible to the community. I will be asking for more patrolling in the neighbourhood, accelerate the implementation of ‘Neighbourhood Watch’ and the installation of CCTV cameras; something that is used in other municipalities like Toronto.
I will not stop until we find real solutions to this on-going problem.
I will have an update once the meeting is concluded.

Tuesday night’s murder is the latest incident in a neighbourhood that has been recently plagued by violence. In 2015, two teens were killed five months apart at the same apartment building complex on Jasmine Cres.
In April, Connor Stevenson, 18, was found in the stairwell of the building at 2020 Jasmine Cres., then, in September, Issaiah Clachar, 17, was stabbed to death in the parking lot.
