Lots to do around Ottawa this weekend

OTTAWA –People across the Nation’s Capital are spoiled with things to do during the summer and this weekend is no exception.
It’s the final weekend for the Ottawa Fringe Festival, which kicks off Saturday morning , with Saturday morning cartoons at the Arts Court (2 Daly Ave.).
The closing night awards are on Sunday at 10 p.m.

Interested in taking in a music festival? Escapade is on at the Rideau Carleton Raceway, featuring multiple stages and loads of performers from the local d-j scene.
Jazz Fest continues with multiple stages and performances – including free events at the Rideau Centre and the Confederation Park fountain.
Headliners are Sarah McLachlan on Saturday and Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings on Sunday.
If you are looking to get out of the heat, check out the Canadian War Museum with its exhibition on “deadly skies” and the evolution of air warfare starting with the dogfights of WWI.
The Kanata Art Club ‘show and sale’ continues at the Kanata Civic Art Gallery.
On Parliament Hill, the first changing of the guard gets underway Sunday at 10 a.m.
To top off the weekend, the Ottawa Guitar Show is on Sunday at the Glebe Community Centre on Third Ave. from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
If you are more sporty, check out the 12th Annual Community Cup at Brewer Park happening Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Dragon Boat Festival takes over Mooney’s Bay Park with heats starting at 7a.m.
You could also learn to sail. The Nepean Sailing Club is holding free 45-minute sails and lunch from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
