Man facing kidnapping charge after incident near Andrew Haydon Park

OTTAWA — A 22-year-old Ottawa man is facing several charges, including kidnapping, after an incident in the area of Andrew Haydon Park and Carling Avenue.

Police arrested a man there shortly before 8:00 Thursday morning.

The charges against Alexandre Iacovitti-Villeneuve include kidnapping, assault with a weapon, and forcible confinement.

He’s being held for a bail hearing on July 1.

Police say no other information can be released at this time, because of the ongoing investigation.
