Closing arguments wrap up at Jagtar Gill murder trial

OTTAWA – The jury will soon begin deliberating the fate of the two co-accused in the Jagtar Gill murder trial.
Jagtar Gill was found stabbed and beaten to death in her Barhaven home, on her 17th wedding anniversary, in January of 2014.
Her husband, Bhupinderpal, and his mistress, Gurpreet Ronald, have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. The Crown alleges the co-accused planned the murder so they could spend the rest of their lives together, but both defendants claim their relationship ended before the murder took place.
The Crown also argued that Gurpreet Ronald carried out the attack using a knife and a weight-lifting bar, and point to DNA evidence as proof she was in the home at the time of the murder.
