OTTAWA — A firefighter was monitored for possible heat exhaustion after a barn fire on First Line Road near Roger Stevens Drive.
The 911 calls started coming in just after 3 p.m. on Friday.
The barn was reported to contain farming equipment and old hay bales, but no livestock.
Not long after crews arrived, part of the barn collapsed.
The high temperature and humidity were also a challenge, and one firefighter was assessed by paramedics for possible heat exhaustion, but did not require hospitalization.
The fire was under control just before 4 p.m.
