Crews respond to two kitchen fires Sunday

OTTAWA – Crews dealt with two separate cooking fires, just minutes apart, over the supper hour Sunday.

Around 630 p.m., a neighbour noticed smoke coming from a home on Bayshore Drive and called 911.

The smoke was coming from a pot on the stove — the only thing damaged by the fire.

Then, a passerby called 911 after seeing smoke coming from a home on Tenth Line Road in Orleans.

A pot on the stove started a kitchen fire, causing $30, 000 in damage.

There were no injuries in either fire.
