Man critically injured by fallen tree branch

A man was critically injured by a fallen tree branch in the Glebe over the weekend.

The branch came crashing down around 12 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Percy Street and Powell Avenue.

The 62-year-old man was rushed to hospital with critical head injuries.

According to Environment Canada, winds were gusting in a range of about 35 to 48 kilometres per hour when the branch came down, falling about seven metres to the ground.
