Emergency crews kept busy with several crashes overnight

OTTAWA — Police and paramedics have been kept busy after several crashes from Friday night to early Saturday morning, including a deadly collision in the Byward Market.
A 31-year-old man was killed after a collision between his motorcycle and an SUV on George Street just before 7 p.m. Friday.
His name was not released.
Then, a 20-year-old man was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on King Edward Avenue near Laurier just after midnight.
Paramedics say they treated the man for a severe head injury and delivered advanced life support.
Another three people were involved in a single vehicle crash on St. Patrick Bridge near the Vanier Parkway at 3 a.m., Saturday.
A 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with a chest injury, while a 27-year-old man was treated for minor injuries, and a third person refused treatment.
Ottawa Police were investigating all three crashes.
