School closures on UCDSB agenda

School closures will be on the agenda when the Upper Canada District School Board meets Wednesday night in Brockville.

An initial staff report will be given to the board with draft recommendations for school closures and consolidations.

Due to declining enrollment, the report will outline the potential for 16 school closures to be completed at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, and an additional 13 school closures proposed beyond that period.

There will be public consultations before the board releases its decision on March 23, 2017.

More details, including a list of schools being considered for closure or consolidation, can be found on the Upper Canada District School Board website.
