Police arrest man in Centretown after eight-hour standoff

OTTAWA – Ottawa police have arrested a man who barricaded himself inside a home on Friday.

Police received reports of a man disturbing the peace and carrying some sort of weapon at around 8:30 a.m.

Flora and Percy Streets were closed to traffic as police tried to negotiate with the man. The eight hour standoff ended just after 4:30 p.m.

The road has since reopened. No charges have been laid.
