OTTAWA – Ottawa Public Health has issued a frostbite advisory for the nation’s capital.
When the temperature drops below -25C with the wind chill, the risk of frostbite increases substantially.
Overnight Sunday, temperatures dropped to around -24C, feeling like -32 with the wind.
Health officials suggest you should limit the time spent outside, dress in layers, wear mitts or gloves, hats, scarves and warm, waterproof boots.
The signs of frostbite include a prickling feeling, numbness and red, white or grey skin.
