LRT tunnelling complete

OTTAWA — It seems there’s light at the end of the tunnel, for the LRT.

The two ends of the downtown LRT tunnel have been connected. The mayor announced Thursday that tunnelling was completed, with the two ends of the tunnel meeting under Rideau Street.

Crews will continue working to finish the walls of the tunnel and prepare for LRT service to begin on the Confederation Line in 2018.
