Get ready for snow!

OTTAWA — Pull out the shovels and brace for some actual winter weather.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the National Capital Region.

Significant snowfall is set to begin falling Monday night and into Tuesday.

It’s because of a low pressure system coming in from the southern U.S.

Environment Canada reports that snowfall warnings may be issued later on for Eastern Ontario as up to 15 centimetres is expected to fall by Tuesday night.

They warn drivers should be cautious as visibility could decrease on the roads as the snow begins falling Monday night.
