Driver in Bronson road rage incident facing charges

OTTAWA – Police have charged the driver in a road rage incident involving a cyclist on Bronson Avenue.
Part of the incident on January 11 was caught on videotape, and showed the driver and cyclist in a verbal confrontation. Police say the cyclist got off his bicycle, and placed it in front of the car as the verbal confrontation continued.

The driver continued to move forward, slowly pushing the cyclist through the intersection.
Police say at one point, the driver got out of his vehicle, grabbed the bicycle, and threw it to the ground — and then assaulted the cyclist.
Patrice LePage, 47, of Gatineau, is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault, and mischief under $5000.
He has been released on a recognizance to appear in court.
