Crews tackle east end garage fire

OTTAWA – Fire crews are on scene of a fire in the Meadowbrook area.

Ottawa Fire Services responded to 1419 Progress Place just after 5 a.m., after 911 calls reporting a car on fire inside the attached garage.

Crews arrived to find heavy smoke conditions and the main body of the fire was extinguished around 5:45 a.m.

There are no injuries reported, and no word on what sparked the fire.
