Seven people charged after Montreal Road robbery

OTTAWA — Seven people are facing charges after a robbery on Montreal Road that injured two employees.

Police say shortly before 7pm Thursday, two people went into a store on the 500 block of Montreal Road. One had a knife, and the other had a form of pepper spray.

Two employees were sprayed and tied up.

The suspects took off with cell phones, and left in a vehicle waiting nearby.

Police found that vehicle a short time later and arrested five people.

Two more people were arrested during the following investigation, and police say the stolen property was seized.
Those facing charges are:

Alden Koussou, 28, of Laval
Abdias Mongard, 34, of Montreal
Kajal Patel, 22, of Ottawa
Iham Rahman, 27, of Ottawa
Niloy Faruq, 25, of Ottawa
Cieam Kabir, 21, of Laval
Viergela Beaubrun, 35, of Montreal

All seven suspects have been jointly charged with two counts of robbery and a single count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are pending.
