Carleton University’s President resigns

OTTAWA — Carleton University’s president is resigning to pursue another leadership opportunity.

In a statement released Friday afternoon, the Board of Governors stated it had accepted “with regret” the resignation of President and Vice-Chancellor Roseann O’Reilly Runte.

The university did not say what the new position is, but said details would likely be released next week.

O’Reilly Runte was the university’s first female president and vice-chancellor.

Her resignation is effective July 31st.
