Rainfall warning issued for Ottawa area; 30-50mm forecast

OTTAWA – Keep your umbrellas and rain boots handy; we are in for a soaking.
Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings for a large swath of the province, including the National Capital Region.
Rain is forecast to last right through the day, heavy at times, with up to 40 mm expected in Ottawa by late Thursday, while areas outside the city could receive closer to 50 mm.
The rain is forecast to mix with or change to snow in the evening hours, before coming to end Friday.
With the ground already saturated, flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
