Fire crews quickly take down carpet fire on Shillington Avenue

OTTAWA – Fire crews quickly put out a carpet fire at an apartment building Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to 1180 Shillington Avenue around 4:50 a.m. after a call from the alarm company for the apartment building.

There was heavy smoke in the locker room of the building when the first officer arrived on the scene.

Crews remained on scene to ventilate the building.
