Second charge laid in homicide of Christine MacNeil

GATINEAU – A second man has been charged in connection with the murder of Christine MacNeil.

Emilio Spezzano, 57, was picked up by Ottawa Police Wednesday afternoon while driving in the city’s east end.

Gatineau Police had obtained a warrant for his arrest the day prior on a first-degree murder charge.

The 25-year-old MacNeil was shot in the Four-Points Sheraton Hotel in October of 2015.

In February of last year, detectives arrested and charged Blake Dooley, 53, with first-degree murder in the case.

Police say MacNeil and Spezzano had been in a relationship for nearly 4 years, but it had ended before her death.

No other suspects are being sought.
