Crews tackle garbage fire in Jasmine Crescent highrise

OTTAWA – There are no injuries reported after a fire in a highrise building in the east end.

Crews responded to 2020 Jasmine Crescent just after 12:30 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke in a garbage area of the building.

A working fire was declared and a second alarm was called in.

Fire crews quickly put out a fire in a garbage can and ventilated the area.

There is no damage estimate available and no word on what caused the fire.
