After two months, Ottawa police laid charges following the discovery of suspected drug trafficking in a west end community.
Officials said a search warrant was executed at a house and vehicle in the 900 block of Baseline Road. There, police found drugs including cocaine, oxycodone pills, MDMA, and crack cocaine, and a significant amount of Canadian currency.
A 59-year-old man and a 26-year-old man are facing charges of drug trafficking.
Ottawa police are focusing on these sorts of networks which they say bring “real harm” into communities.
In January, the force dismantled a prolific drug trafficking network within the National Capital Region, with help from Gatineau police, OPP and the Canada Border Services Agency.
In that incident, seven people from the nation’s capital are facing 61 criminal charges, with more expected to be laid when the additional suspects are found.
In the eight search warrants police seized a large quantity of drugs, three handguns, two vehicles and almost $200,000 in cash.
