Intense mid-week storm leaves thousands without power

OTTAWA – Hydro Ottawa is dealing with a number of power outages across the city.

Intense thunderstorms swept through the capital Wednesday afternoon — blasting the city with strong winds and heavy rain.

It was quite the path of destruction — uprooting trees, tearing roofs off of homes and knocking out power to thousands.
