One person dead in Gatineau fire

GATINEAU – One person has been killed in a fire in Gatineau.

Emergency crews were called to a five-storey apartment building at Rue 260 Mutchmore at 6:18 p.m. Thursday.

150 people were evacuated from the building, and it took crews about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.

Once crews were able to enter the building, a body was found.

The fire caused $15,000 damage and the cause is under investigation.
