Police probe two weekend shootings

OTTAWA – Police are investigating two shootings that happened a few hours, and a few miles — apart.

The first incident happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night on Heatherington Road.

Police say one man was sent to hospital with a single gunshot wound. No arrests have been made.

Then, just before 1:20 a.m. Sunday, police responded to reports of gunfire on Triole Street, in the St. Laurent Boulevard and Belfast Road area.

Patrol officers and the canine unit did not turn up any victims or suspects.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit continues to probe both incidents and are looking to talk to any witnesses.
