Charges laid in weekend robberies

OTTAWA – Police have charged a man in connection to three robberies in the city.
On Sunday, police received reports of three separate robberies in less than two hours.
The first robbery was at a convenience store in the 300 block of Elgin Street around 6 a.m., the second at a fast food restaurant in the 100 block of Rideau Street around 7 a.m. and the third at a gas station in the 1400 block of Baseline Road around 7:40 a.m.
The suspect used notes to demand cash in the first two incidents and made a verbal demand in the third robbery, though no weapon was seen.
The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in all three cases, and was located by police later the same day.
Kyle Alinott, 24, of Ottawa, has been charged with three counts of robbery and two counts of wearing a disguise. He is due in court Monday.
