Ottawa comic and actor Mike MacDonald dead at 63
The Ottawa-raised comedian and actor passed away Saturday night at age 63.
MacDonald had several health issues in recent years. In 2011, he was diagnosed with hepatitis C. In 2012, MacDonald announced he needed help getting a liver transplant. MacDonald raised funds online and was able to get the transplant shortly after.
Praised as one of Canada's top comedians, MacDonald had battled drug addiction in his adult life.
