Leeds Detachment Ontario Provincial Police officers are investigating a few cases involving the illegal use of radar detectors.
A number of vehicles were stopped on Hwy 401 over the weekend, and their drivers were found to be in possession of or using radar detectors.
Three men from the US, one Ontario man and one man from Quebec were all charged with driving a motor vehicle with speed measuring warning devices.
The set fine for this offence is $170, three demerit points and the warning devices get seized.
Leeds OPP remind motorists that any device or piece of equipment designed to warn a driver of the presence of speed measuring equipment in the vicinity is considered a speed measuring warning device, and is illegal.
