Roads to close as CN Cycle for CHEO takes over

A 70 km, 35 km, and 15 km cycle, a 15 km inline skate and a 5 km and 2 km walk will take participants through some of Ottawa's most scenic areas. 

To avoid driving delays, see the list of affected roadways below. 

All routes begin and end at the Canadian War Museum and all lane reductions, road closures and crossing traffic restrictions will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.

These roads will be affected:

Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway / Ottawa River Parkway (Closed both directions Booth St to Island Park Dr.) 6 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway / Ottawa River Parkway (Closed both directions Island Park Dr. to Carling Ave.) 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Wellington St. (Eastbound lane closed Booth St. to Portage Bridge) 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Local access to Lett St. by designated lane on Wellington St. (eastbound and westbound) from Booth St.

Wellington St. (Eastbound curb lane reduction Portage Bridge to Lyon St.) 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Wellington St. (Westbound curb lane reduction Sussex Dr. to Lyon St.) 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Portage Bridge (Closed both directions) 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Lyon St. (Closed Wellington St. to Laurier Ave.) 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Laurier Ave. (Closed Lyon St. to Queen Elizabeth Dr. on ramp – Lyon St. to Elgin St. closed to all but crossing traffic) 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Laurier Ave. (Eastbound lanes closed Elgin St. to Nicholas St.) 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Queen Elizabeth Dr. (Closed both directions Laurier Ave. to Preston St.) 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Prince of Wales Dr. (Northbound lane closed Preston St. to Heron Rd.) 8:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Local access to Agricultural Museum from Preston St. and Scenic Dr. Local access to churches from Heron Rd.

Heron Rd. (Westbound lane reduction Riverside Dr. to Prince of Wales Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Vincent Massey Park Access (Vehicular traffic can access Vincent Massey Park by using the on ramp from Heron Rd. westbound) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Heron Rd. (Eastbound lane reduction Vincent Massey Park to Riverside Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Riverside Dr. (Southbound lane reduction Heron Rd. to Hogs Back Rd.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Hogs Back Rd. (Westbound lane closed Riverside Dr. to Colonel By Dr.) 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Colonel By Dr. (Closed both directions from Daly St. to Hogs Back Rd. ) 8:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Sussex Dr. (Closed Rideau to Rockcliffe Pkwy) 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Local access to Notre Dame Basilica from St. Patrick St.

Sir George Etienne Cartier Pkwy (Rockcliffe Pkwy) (Closed Princess Ave. to St. Joseph Blvd.) 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Local access to Aviation Museum and Rockcliffe Flying Club from Aviation Pkwy.

For all participants and volunteers coming to the Canadian War Museum from Quebec: The Chaudières Bridge will be open. Here are the streets that will be closed in Gatineau on May 6:

– Alexandre-Taché Blvd from Eddy Street to Blvd Maisonneuve;
– Laurier Street between Blvd Maisonneuve and Courcelette Street;
– Blvd Maisonneuve from Blvd des Allumettières to Portage Bridge
