The Gatineau Police Service is asking for the public's help in finding a suspicious vehicle, which it says hit a pedestrian and took off in the Aylmer area.
The incident happened in the eastbound lane of Front Street at Raton-Laveur Street on November 2, around 7 a.m.
A man in his thirties was crossing the street, legally, when he was hit and had to be taken to hospital.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a grey or beige SUV, similar to a Honda CR-V from 1996 to 2006 or a Nissan X-Trail from 2005 or 2006, which had a horrizontal black band on the bottom of its doors.
The vehicle would have sustained damage to the front of the passenger side, so police are asking any body shops who may have seen such damage on a similar vehicle to speak up.
Anyone who has information about this event, or vehicle, is asked to call Gatineau police at 819-243-INFO (4636), option 5. All information received will be treated confidentially.
