About 40 households in Westboro are being urged to not flush their toilets because flooding has stressed the neighbourhood's sewer system.
The city says the homes affected are along two streets, near Churchill Avenue North. The affected households are being asked to not flush toilets, shower, or use dishwashers or washing machines.
A secure area of portable toilets is being provided by the city, and affected residents can use shower facilities at two nearby community centres:
- Dovercourt Community Centre at 411 Dovercourt Avenue
- Pinecrest Recreation Complex at 2250 Torquay Avenue
The city insists that everyone's drinking water remains safe.
