On and off-duty paramedics combine to revive runner who collapsed in the Ottawa Race Weekend 10K
Ottawa paramedics say a man in his 60's had to be revived during the 10-kilometre event for Ottawa Race Weekend.
On Saturday, around 7:40 p.m. a patient collapsed near TD Place. An off-duty paramedic, participating in the race, stopped to perform CPR.
Two paramedics on bikes arrived shortly afterward and used one shock of a defibrillator to restart the man's heart.

He regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but expected to survive.
