Maisonneuve Boulevard re-opens

By OttawaMatters Staff

Gatineau's Maisonneuve Boulevard has re-opened, but the search continues for whoever damaged a structure over the road, forcing its closure on Tuesday.

Northbound lanes of the road, at the northern end of the Portage Bridge, were closed underneath the Place du Centre federal building for the duration of Tuesday's afternoon commute.

Officials believe a truck hit the overpass but say they're unsure whether it was a hit and run, or if the driver didn't even realize they hit the structure while travelling through.

The road re-opened once it was determined that the overhead structure was stable.

Anyone with information is being asked to call police.
