Kanata has most expensive two-bedroom apartments in Canada, study finds

A west-end suburb takes top spot for most expensive two-bedroom apartments in the entire country, according to a new report on rental rates in Canada.
The October National Rent Report, produced by Rentals.ca and Bullpen Research & Consulting, found that the average monthly rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Kanata hit $2,998, while a one-bedroom goes for $2,169.
Toronto takes top spot for most expensive one-bedroom apartments in the country, with the average monthly rent in September at $2,304. The average two-bedroom apartment in Toronto rents for $2,908.
Overall, Ottawa finished 10th out of 34 cities in the report for average monthly rent for a one-bedroom home at $1,624 and 11th for average monthly rent for a two-bedroom at $2,056.
Median rent for all property types in Ottawa didn't budge from the fourth quarter of 2018 ($1,900) to the third quarter of this year, the report says.
The rent report charts and analyzes rents for more than 30 cities across Canada on a monthly and quarterly basis.
