The City of Ottawa is reminding residents that election signs on both public and private property must be removed within 48 hours of voting day.
Residents are not allowed to put election signs with their curbside waste or recycling. City officials say waste collection operators will not pick up election signs set out at the curb.
Election signs need to be returned to candidates for proper disposal.
Candidates or their representatives can dispose of signs with the city's recycling processor, Cascades Recovery Plus, or call 613-742-1222 for more information.
All regulations for election signs on private and public property in Ottawa are set out in the Signs on City Roads By-law.
