Halloween frights, fun and candy at Rideau Hall

By OttawaMatters Staff

The Governor General's residence will be a spooky place, Thursday evening, as staff come back from the dead to welcome trick-or-treaters.

Rideau Hall's annual Halloween celebration — this year, dubbed “Dinner with the Dead” — includes new activities.

Staff will take trick-or-treaters through the creepy kitchen, and they can get a photo at the haunted dinner table filled with creepy and weird foods. Canada Agriculture and Food Museum staff will be on hand to help children learn about what is in soil, and help them identify animals by their skeletons.

Rideau Hall staff will be on hand to distribute goodies to trick-or-treaters of all ages.

The event runs from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Rideau Hall. Attendees can enter from Thomas Gate on Sussex Drive, and street parking is available in the neighbourhood.
