Ottawa and its surrounding area are under a special weather statement for a winter storm settling over Eastern Ontario Thursday and Friday.
The inclement weather has caused the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and the Upper Canada District School Board to cancel all school buses.
Snow is expected to start Thursday morning and last for at least 24 hours.

1310 NEWS Meteorologist Jill Taylor says the Ottawa area can expect 'waves' of snow that could total 20 centimetres by the time it makes it way through the region.
Keep in mind, surfaces like highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become slippery, which could contribute to a delay for the morning and afternoon commute.
