Ottawa police have one man in custody after someone was seen peeping into an apartment window on Chapel Street, but officers are not sure if it's the same suspect wanted in a number of other voyeurism incidents in the area.
Police received a 911 call regarding the suspect on Chapel Street at 1:21 a.m., Friday.
Officers responded to the area and found a man matching the description of the suspect. After a brief interaction, the man ran away from officers and was arrested on Sweetland Avenue.
Samuel Gendreau, 31, of Gatineau has been charged with:
- Trespass by night, per Sec. 177 CCC
- Voyeurism, per Sec. 162(1)(b) CCC
- Resist Arrest, per Sec. 129(a) CCC
An investigation to determine whether this incident is related to others in the Sandy Hill area, which have taken place since early in October of 2019, is underway.
