Bills, a new car and a ‘little bit of fun’ in Ottawa man’s plan after $56K win

By Mike Vlasveld

A 32-year-old Ottawa man already knows what he wants to do with more than $56,000 he won playing a scratch ticket.

Guillaume Arcand took home the Poker Lotto All In jackpot, worth $51,941, on March 6, 2020. He also won $5,000 on the instant portion of his play, bringing his total winnings to $56,941.

Arcand works as a window glazer and says he has won smaller amounts by playing Poker Lotto in the past. This time, he discovered his big win at the retailer.

“I looked at the screen at the store and found out I had won,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “I thought I broke the machine!”

Arcand says he wants to pay bills and buy a car with his windfall.

“I’m going to have a little bit of fun,” he smiled. “It feels good to win.”

The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell gas station on Carp Road in Carp.
