Select Beer Store locations in Ottawa restart bottle recycling program

Select Beer Stores in Ontario will once again start accepting returns of empty bottles.

Starting on Monday, 71 of their 450 locations will restart the recycling program, including seven stores and one distribution centre in the Ottawa area.

• Orleans – 2276 Tenth Line Road
• Ottawa – 1860 Bank Street
• Ottawa – 7 Selkirk Street
• Nepean – 1984 Baseline Road
• Kanata – 720 Eagleson Road
• Pembroke – 311 Nelson Street
• Hawkesbury – 1036 Lansdowne Rodd

In store returns will be limited to one cart per person.

Select Beer Store distribution centres including the one located at 2750 Swansea Crescent in Ottawa, will also accept empty container returns from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Sunday for the foreseeable future.

These sites will be set up as a drive-thru drop off system which allows for continuous flow of traffic and proper social distancing. No bottle drive returns will be accepted at the distribution centres. 

Beer brewers had been running low on bottles due to a shutdown of the Beer Store recycle program, which was put in place on  March 17.
